Singapore is a centre for education in Asia,
offering quality education to national and international students

Education industry in Singapore for all international students
around the world. Singapore offers a varied and special mix of
educational services by establishing standardized institutions
and attracting more leading international universities to start
functioning in Singapore.
There are almost 50,000 international students in Singapore, of which about more than 2000 are Indian students studying at various levels in Singapore. Many international students study their due the high quality of education offered at UG and PG level in Singapore's local universities. Students may find scholarships from the federal government and many private organizations. Western interest in Southeast Asia and Singapore has grown in last two decades especially in regards to the high-tech industry. Students going to Singapore may wish to become proficient in Mandarin, but English is also widely spoken in professional and educational circles.
Government Scholarships
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships were established by the federal government's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. The program awards over 700 scholarships of up to $ 5,000 each year to brilliant students. Apart from academic talent, the next biggest requirement is major financial need, the kind that makes you a Pell Grant recipient. Preference is given to minority students, those attending community colleges are two-year institutions, and the disabled. The Gilman Scholarships are purposely designed to train more designed to train more diverse leaders in business and international affairs.
Also from the federal government come the David L. Boren Scholarships. These undergraduate and graduate level programs are offered by the US Department of Homeland Security and generously support international studies in countries critical to national security, including Singapore. The scholarships are mostly offered on competitive basis rather than need basis. The authorities offer scholarships of up to $ 20,000 a year. Students must be enrolled in programmes in Singapore.
Private Funds
The Singapore Millennium Foundation is a Singapore-based organization that offers scholarships to international students. The foundation offers scholarship to students on their good academic record as well as their research work. Scholarships are up to $60,000 per year for post-doctoral researchers.
The country offer scholarship to engineering students who want to pursue their higher studies in the country. The eligible candidates must posses excellent academic record in their major and be able to offer supporting evidence as to why a program of study in Singapore would add value to their career. Candidates must be enrolled in the National University of Singapore or Nanyang Technology University. Scholarships are up to $ 6,000 per academic year.
Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships are offered to outstanding students heading off to Singapore to study. Eligible candidate should have excellent academic record in their respective field and international pursuit.
